Samsung has not been too ambitious with its Tizen based smartphone so far, but the company certainly has huge plans for its own platform in the long term. The Z1 launched in India and so far is Samsung's only Tizen smartphone (the company's wearables also run the OS), but the Korean giant is going to spread Tizen's wings and may even launch a new smartphone in the process. It has been oft reported that Samsung will launch a number of new Tizen smartphone before the close of 2015, among them the Z3, and these handsets will be available beyond Asia and Russia (where the Z1 is available). SamMobile claims that the company will be launching new Tizen products throughout Europe by the end of this year. At the moment Samsung is apparently conducting market research in Europe to decide whether its Tizen smartphones would be a good fit on the continent. Europe is unlike many continents as it mixes emerging markets with global powerhouses, so it would be no surprise to see Tizen land in emerging European markets but skip major ones such as the UK and Germany. SamMobile is typically spot on with his leaks, so there is no reason not to believe this story, although until Samsung goes official it is worth employing caution. The Z3 will be a better spec'd smartphone than the very modest Z1. It will feature a 5-inch 720p screen, 1.3GHz Speadtrum chipset, and 1.5GB of RAM. It will run Tizen 2.4 out of the box but will be upgradeable to Tizen 3.0.
