Sony has had a tough time overall in recent years and the situation has been exasperated by a declinig smartphone division. With handset sales declining many have mooted the idea that Sony would sell its Xperia decision, something the company has denied. With things not looking any better the rumor will not go away, but perhaps we have the definitive answer now. That's because Sony's CEO and President of Sony Mobile Hiroki Totoki completely shot down the idea of Sony offloading Xperia as it did its PC business VAIO. His exact words left no room for movement as he told Arabian Business, Sony "will never ever sell or exit from the current mobile business". Of course, Totoki will not be CEO forever and the words never ever may not always rings true in the future, but for the short term his answer seems pretty final to us. That means we will keep getting Xperia smartphones with the Sony mark on the handset, which is fine for us as the Japanese company actually turns out very good devices.
