You may have been thinking that ASUS is all about the ZenFone range, but the company has plenty of other smartphone products (FonePad anyone?) and has just announced the Pegasus 2 handset. In fact the exact name is the Pegasus 2 Plus X550, a mid-range device that comes with a solid enough design and spec sheet.

Speaking of the design, the Pegasus 2 Plus is decent enough to look at, although we are not sure if we are sold on black edges between screen and bezel. It seems to be a growing trend and admittedly the new ASUS is one of the better looking example, while it also proves that plastic phones can still look cool. Yes, we are entirely aware that everything just written is entirely subjective.

The specs of the Pegasus 2 Plus X550 are good for its mid-range aspirations. The handset comes with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, a Full HD 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear camera, an 8 megapixel front facing snapper, and a 3030mAh juicer. The device will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with the ASUS? own Zen UI over the top.

ASUS is selling the device in Rose Gold and White, and we almost forgot to include that it offers dual-SIM capability. Interesting you may be thinking, but we highly doubt that the Pegasus Plus X550 will find its way to Europe or North America, especially in this dual-SIM form.
