HTC has wasted no time in shooting down rumors that it is talk to merge with fellow Taiwanese company ASUS. The funny thing about the whole story is that the initial report came straight from ASUS, with the company's chairman Johnny Shih saying that he is not ruling out the possibility of his company purchasing troubled HTC at some point.HTC has been going through testing times, losing plenty market share and now losing money with the HTC One M9 flagship struggling to make a mark. However, the story of ASUS' interest seems to have come as news to HTC, with the company issuing the following statement. "[HTC] has not made any contact with Asus regarding this matter, and it will not consider a merger with Asus," the company said to the Taiwan stock exchange.
