LG and Google has a rich history together, after-all it was the former company that made the first two Nexus smartphones for the latter. However, after the success of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, Google and LG decided to go separate ways, with Motorola drafted in to build the Nexus 6 for Mountain View to showcase its Android Lollipop platform. The Nexus 6 is still only around 8 months old, but slowly we are turning our attention to what the NEXT Nexus Smartphone will be, with the handset likely to launch this October or November. While many companies are listed as potential partners with Google, Motorola included, it seems that LG is back in the frame to build the new Nexus. An anonymous insider today revealed that building the newest Nexus is "under consideration at LG", but that nothing has been finalized. With the handset likely to land in less than six months, we would think the device is nearing entering the late development phase, so while reports say LG has yet to decide, we think the manufacturer of Google's choice has already been selected. Whether that is LG or not remains to be seen.
