The Dell Venue 8 7000 flies under the radar a little bit, even if it is one of the better Android running tablets on the market at the moment. It is an impressive mobile gaming machine and gets plenty of other things right too. Dell has now confirmed that the slate is now getting its update to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, bringing the Venue 8 7000 to the newest major build of Google?s mobile OS.The Lollipop package is well known by now, but Dell Venue 8 7000 users can expect such upgrades as Material Design, Quick Settings, 64-bit ART compiler, lockscreen notifications, Project Volta, improved security, and much more besides. The device has become known as a titan of mobile gaming, so the addition of 64-bit ART compiler will certainly enhance that from a software front. Dell is holding the update over stages, so you may have to wait a few days before you are prompted to download. Alternatively you can check your settings menu on the tablet and look for the manual file. The Venue 8 7000 comes with an 8-inch screen with 1600 x 2560 resolution and a pixel density of 359ppi. Other specs include a 2.3GHz quad core Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a micro SD slot that allows expansion up to a massive 512GB. An 8 megapixel camera sits on the rear, while a 2 megapixel lens adorns the front.
