The Apple Watch has finally landed and is available in nine countries (good luck getting one though) and with the wearable the company has also opened the App Store for smart watches. Apple stores around the world are dealing with lines of customers waiting to get Apple's first ever wearable, but the devices are extremely scarce at this early stage. It is not the same story with apps though as Apple has an impressive amount of apps ready to go for the Apple Watch debut, 3000 applications in fact. Cupertino announced the Apple Watch back last September and that six month lead off to the full launch means developers have had plenty of time to build apps for the device. While the App Store will undoubtedly expand a lot in the coming year, 3000 is a very respectable start and much more than Google offered when it first launched Android Wear. Indeed, 3000 is a lot more than Android Wear can boast even now, almost a year from its initial release. Apple has grouped apps into categories, Health & Fitness, Communication, Work, Travel, Family, and Creativity. In amongst that bunch there are also games. Any iOS device (rocking iOS 8.3) can be used to browse for Apple Watch apps, although the specific Apple Watch app will have to be on said device.
