Motorola is always one of the first OEM's to upgrade its smartphones to the latest versions of Android, and the company is thorough too, getting the update to numerous products in double time. The proof is in the proverbial pudding as Motorola has many handsets already rocking Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, some older devices are still rocking Android 4.4 KitKat and will not be receiving Android 5.0, but don't worry it is not because Motorola is getting lazy.In fact, David Schuster, Motorola's Software Product Manager, revealed on his Google+ profile that the company will instead skip the 5.0.2 build and go straight Android 5.1 Lollipop. The company has been testing the software on the Moto X, Moto E, and Moto G LTE handsets, those are the three first generation version of those handsets, not the newer second gen models that are already on Android 5.0. The exact date when these smartphones will get Android 5.1 was not offered, but we expect some noise on the matter through this month sometime. The company has said the Moto X is a particular problem because of the configuration of the chipset, while Motorola blamed Google for delaying the process too.
