LG's G4 has passed through benchmarking software and surprised us; now it is the turn of Sony's next flagship, but the Xperia Z4 is exactly what we expected. The handset made its way through GFXBench's suite as the Sony E6553. While that is not the Xperia Z4 by name, the listed specs certainly point to this handset being the upcoming flagship. The device carriers a 5.1-inch, Sony seemingly opted against Quad HD this time out and has remained on 1080p like HTC. Elsewhere there is a64-bit eight core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with four ARM Cortex A57 and four Cortex A53 cores. The chip is paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of on board storage, 20 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel shooter on the font. That handset will be running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. There is still no official word on when the Xperia Z4 will launch, or indeed how much it will cost. Sony has reverted back to a once per year launch cycle for smartphone flagships, so the company may be tempted to wait until September when the Xperia Z3 reaches the end of its year cycle. However, the top line specs today may look a little more standard by then, so a summer roll out of the Xperia Z4 is much more likely.
