China Mobile accidently leaked (an executive posted an image) of the rumored new low cost smartphone coming from Xiaomi. The handset is supposedly running on a Leadcore CPU and will cost the bargain price of $80 ISD. The device has passed through TENAA, the Chinese version of the FCC, and is certified for sale. Now a new report out Xiaomi's homeland suggests that the handset is really close to launch and will be announced on April 8th. The as yet unnamed device will apparently come with a 4.7-inch 720p screen, a 1.6GHz quad-core chipset, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage that can be expanded via micro SD card, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The handset also sports a 13 megapixel rear snapper, with a 2 megapixel lens sitting upfront. That is a pretty stunning set of specs considering this sub $90 price tag and will in all likelihood sell by the truckload in China when it is launched.
