ASUS announced the ZenFone 2 way back in January during the CES event in Las Vegas; the handset comes in multiple variants and at different price points. While the 1080p 4GB of RAM variant grabbed the headlines, the lower 720p 2GB of RAM variant is also very good, and is very affordable. That modest ZenFone 2 is now available in the United States through Amazon, although there is a caveat.Yes, the 2GB ZenFone 2 is out in the US on Amazon, but the retail giant is only offering the international version so far, which means there will be no warranty available in the States. All the ZenFone 2 range is likely to land officially in the US in due course, but at the moment this is your avenue if you must have the handset now. The ZenFone 2 in question comes with a 5-inch screen with 720p resolution, LTE connectivity, an Intel processor (dual-core Atom) with 2GB of RAM, and 8 megapixel rear camera, 16GB of storage on board, micro SD card slot, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. As this is through Amazon the handset comes unlocked and can be placed with any carrier, although the retailer says stock is limited. Prices start at $219 for the white versions and $229 is you want the ZenFone 2 in black.
