Brand tie in or just codename? A new Xiaomi smartphone has found its way to GFXBench for benchmarking scores and is using the name "Ferrari". Is Xiaomi working with the Italian sports car manufacturer in the same way BlackBerry and Porsche did, or is this merely a codename? The latter is more likely, but a Ferrari smartphone would be something we would like to see whether it is with Xiaomi or not.Back to the device, it is a reasonable mid-range handset, which rules out it being the $64 smartphone Xiaomi is apparently working on. The Xiaomi Ferrari comes with an eight core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip, a 4.9-inch 1080p HD screen, and 2GB of RAM. The solid spec sheet continues with a 12 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel selfie quality front shooter, 16GB of storage, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. There is no official word from Xiaomi on this device, so its launch date and price are not known yet.
