While we still wait for Xiaomi?s arrival in Europe and the USA, the company has made its way to India and has enjoyed the kind of success that put it on the map in China. The company launched the Xiaomi MiPad in India on Tuesday and the device has been a runaway success. In fact, Xiaomi Tweeted that the MiPad sold out extremely fast, lasting mere hours before being out of stock. To put that into perspective, Xiaomi says that it thought it had set aside enough inventory to last for two weeks, but it seems the affordable slate struck a chord with Indian consumers. The Chinese giant said it would return with more of the $209 MiPad tablets soon. The Redmi 2 budget smartphone has also been a success, selling 50,000 units in mere seconds in India. The handset costs the same as $112 USD.
