Chinese company Huawei has sent us an invite for a London press event that will take place on April 15th, where the new P8 flagship smartphone will reportedly be launched. The event will kick off at 3pm Greenwich local time and is interesting because a London launch could mean that Huawei will focus the P8 on foreign markets as well as its Chinese homeland. The company decided to ditch the Ascend branding late last year, otherwise this would have been known as the Ascend P8, a sequel to the Ascend P7. It is still a follow up to that devices sans name, and it will be a typically well spec'd flagship from Huawei. The P8 will come with a 52.-inch 1080p screen, the company's in house 64-bit octa-core Kirin 930 chip, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of on board storage, and a micro SD card slot. Other specs could include a fingerprint scanner in the home button, a dual camera with a 13 megapixel lens, and a 2600mAh battery. The mooted Chinese price is said to be $480, but if the P8 does come to other regions it will probably cost similar to other flagships, which unfortunately means it will be more expensive.
