After a couple of weeks of speculation, Sony has confirmed that it is finally updating the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact to Android Lollipop. The company has left it later than most to update its flagship to the newest version of Google's mobile platform, but has been saying in recent weeks that it was coming soon.The update is now making its way to the Japanese giants' best smartphone right now, with the upgrade rolling out to the Xperia Z3 range now. XperiaBlog states that the software is rolling out to select regions so far, with European users due to get the update in the coming days. Other regions should also be following. The Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact are receiving the build number 23.1.A.0.690 is firmware carrying Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, kernel version 3.4.0. Of course, Sony's own UI is making its way with the patch, but the company typically has a soft touch on the Android experience.
