Verizon will undoubtedly be carrying the HTC One M9, but Big Red, the largest carrier in the US, is still showing some love to the now older HTC One M8. The Verizon variant of the smartphone is now getting its update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. HTC kept to its promise of launching 5.0 Lollipop to the One M8 within three months of its launch, but carriers always take a little longer sending out the software. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update brings with it a "Recent Apps" menu, Project Volta for improved battery, Lock Screen notifications, Material Design, and a slew of other new additions that are a part of the Android 5.0 party. Verizon is certainly ahead of main rival AT&T as Ma Bell only brought Android 4.4.4 to the HTC One M8 on January 19th. You will have to have more than 50% battery on your One M8, while a Wi-Fi connection is recommended. As always, the upgrade is rolling out in stages, so you may not see t straights away. You can check for it manually by heading to Settings > Software Update > Check New on your handset.
