While HTC and Samsung unloaded their flagship blockbusters at the Mobile World Conference yesterday, Monday at the Barcelona event has been for lower end handsets. That's not a bad thing though as a flood of new products have been launched. Alcatel was one of the first to get in on the action with its latest tablet, the OneTouch PIXI 3.A budget slate, the PIXI 3 comes with an 8-inch Full HD screen, a dual-core MediaTek MT8312 processor clocked at 1.3MHz and with 1GB of RAM. Elsewhere it has a 3240mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat, 4GB of internal storage, and thankfully a micro SD card slot to expand the space. Alcatel has not confirmed the roll out dates, price, or where the OneTouch PIXI 3 will arrive. I expect it will be released in emerging markets while avoiding mature ones, while it will likely carry a respectable price. There is also a 7-inch version of the tablet available.
