LG has signalled some of its mid-range intentions for 2015 by announcing four brand new smartphones that fit into the affordable and well spec'd category.

The LG Joy is the entry level handset among the new batch, it comes with a 4-inch 480p screen, a dual-core 1.2GHz chipset (there is a quad-core version for some regions), 4GB or 8GB of storage, a lowly 5 megapixel rear camera, an even lowlier 0.3 megapixel front facing snapper, and finally a 1900 mAh juicer.

Next up is the LG Leon, a device that raises the specs incrementally with a larger 4.5-inch screen that is still 480p resolution. Elsewhere the Leon gets quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 8GB of storage, an 8 megapixel rear lend, LG's rear button configuration, and the same front camera and battery as the LG Joy.

Also announced was the LG Spirit, a handset that starts moving into mid-range territory. It has a 4.7-inch 720p HD screen with the same 1.3GHz processor as the Leon. It also has an 8 megapixel main shooter and 8GB of storage. The Spirit also boasts a full 5 megapixel front facing lens for the selfie crowd and a larger 2100 battery to keep the lights one. The last of the four new handsets is the LG Magna, which keeps the exact same specs as the Spirit, accept that is houses a larger 2540mAh battery.

For millions of consumers around the world, the deciding factor on which smartphone to buy isn't how fast or how big it is but how balanced it is. With our new mid-range smartphones, more and more customers will be looking to LG for their next handsets."-Juno Cho, LG Mobile

No pricing details have been offered as yet, or when the handsets will launch or where. All devices will come in 3G and 4G variants, which suggest LG is planning on spreading these pretty far and wide.
