Samsung does not like to hang around and the company has already said that it plans to launch numerous smartphones (and indeed products) carrying its Tizen platform this year. The first Tizen based smartphone, the Samsung Z1, launched back in January and reports suggest that the Korean company is already planning a follow up.Many reports today are suggesting that Samsung is already planning the sequel for Z1 and that it may launch soon. My own sources with the company say that in fact the new handset will be a stable mate for the Z1, it will land alongside it and both handsets will be available. The Samsung Z1 has proved a decent success for the company in India, where it was exclusively launched last month, with some 100,000 units already selling. The sub-$100 handset will now be joined by a new device that could be called the Z2 but is more likely to carry the Z1 name with something else attached. The new smartphone will have slightly better specs and probably a slightly bigger price tag.
