It has been well documented that Apple has sold phenomenal amounts of iPhones since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launched back in September. However, the extent of sales through the Holiday Season seem to be on another level entirely according to noted KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Other analyst companies such as UBS claims that Cupertino sold 69 million iPhone during the fourth quarter, but Kuo is saying it will be more than that, he claims a total of 73 million. He says 42 million iPhone 6, 16 million iPhone 6 Plus, and the rest were made up from older devices like the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

It will be a 43% year-on-year and will continue Apple's meteoric growth through the last half of 2014, a run that is likely to continue in 2015. We will find out some of the official details when the company issues its earning call today.
