HTC has announced its fourth quarter earnings report and it is good news for the company has it seems the bran continues to pull back profit, while sales have increased. It's the third quarter in a row that HTC has now recorded positive results, after a run of seven quarters at a loss. The company made more profit than expected, NT$470 million, while also recording sales growth year on year. Over the previous two quarters HTC got back to profitability, but much of that success was attributed to the popularity of the One M8 flagship, as overall sales continued to tumble. However, we argued on these pages that HTC still had a chance of building sales because it had a number of good mid-range and budget devices ready for launch. The company has a solid portfolio of smartphones at the moment and those lower end Desire devices have made an impact. HTC said it will continue with broadening smartphones at different price points in 2015, and if optimistic growth in China can continue then the company still has the chance to grow this year.
