TSMC to Make Bulk of Apple's A9 Chips, not Samsung

It seemed as though Samsung would be returning to being Apple's biggest chip supplier in 2015 with the company hinting that it would take the bulk of orders for the A9 chip. However, despite talk that Samsung had already started production, a report in Taiwan is suggesting from suppliers that TSMC is actually going to have the bulk of manufacturing duties.

Samsung has traditionally been Apple's biggest partner in this aspect, however ironic that is. However, for the A8 chip found in the current iPhones and iPads, the company toned down Samsung's involvement significantly and made it a minor partner. If this report holds true it seems the same will be the case in 2015, with TSMC (with bigger production capacity) taking the bulk of orders why Samsung is more of a backup.

I have reached out to my Samsung contact to find out if this is true. It seems incredible that the company would discuss being the main chip supplier if it wasn't.
