January will be a busy month for Chinese company Xiaomi. The brand will launch a new flagship, the Mi5, a new update for the Redmi 1S, and the Redmi Note 2. At least one of those smartphones is apparently being launched at CES in Las Vegas, marking Xiaomi's first product launch outside of China. I hope that the company is planning on rolling out a device in the US, and I hope that device is the Redmi Note 2.Yes, the Mi5 flagship in North America would be great, but we are spoilt for choice in the high end Android market. We are in the budget market too, but the Redmi Note 2 has the potential to be a big device along the lines of the Moto G, an industry shaker. Take a look at the device below, it is a very good smartphone with good materials and solid specs, and on top of that it will probably cost under $150. Its reported specs include a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920-pixel LCD display, a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 or MediaTek MT6752 system chip, 2GB of RAM, and 16 gigs of internal storage.
