Xiaomi's business model is interesting as the company makes very little money but is hugely successful in terms of sales and market share. That means the Chinese giant has to have regular funding and today the company announced a new $1.1 billion cash injection based of a valuation of $45 billion. However, the really big news is that Xiaomi president Lei Jun confirmed that the company?s next flagship device will be arriving in January. The successor to the Mi4 flagship, the Mi5, has already been rumoured to be getting a launch at the CES trade show in Las Vegas next month. That would be the first launch Xiaomi has conducted outside of China, but Jun did not confirm that either way. The Mi5 will land just six months after its predecessor and is thought to have the latest smartphone tech, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit chipset and a Quad HD screen.
