Samsung has had plenty of problems this year, one of them being the underperformance of the Galaxy S5 flagship handset. As a result the company has lost profit at an alarming rate and the S5 has disappointed so much that the Korean giant is scrapping the whole ethos built around the device. The company will make the Galaxy S6 from scratch it has been reported, but today we have some fresh details about Samsung's actual plans.

Samsung is going back to the drawing board in every aspect, from the design to specs, in an attempt to recapture the magic that made the Galaxy S4 and especially the S III such successes. The new handset will get completely looks, probably highly influenced by the design direction taken by the Galaxy Alpha and Note 4, while metal materials are likely.

As well as that, the specs will be at the cutting edge of the smartphone world and will include a 2560 x 1440 quad HD screen of unspecified size, although I would like to see Samsung keep the panel down to 5-inches. Elsewhere the two variants will include the Asian specific 64-bit Exynos 7420 packing device and one that could boast the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, perhaps the S6 will be the first smartphone to land the chipset.

Also, SamMobile reports that Samsung will also offer a Galaxy S6 Edge, a device that will follow the Note Edge and have a curved display. Samsung certainly believes in the new tech and is pushing it, while the company is going to breathe new life into its core smartphone. All this talk of specs and design, I would really like to see Samsung tackle the boggiest Android skin of them all, TouchWiz. If the company does that too then the Galaxy S6 may be a winner.
