HTC's One M8 flagship has held up pretty well considering it is an aging flagship. Since its launch at the start of the year the device may have been surpassed by a few in terms of specs, but its winning metal design and overall good package make it a formidable smartphone even now. However, the M8 is now entering its final few months as HTC's lead handset, so how about a new flagship, how will that be?Reports are hinting at the specs of the new HTC One, a device that will probably carry the M9 moniker. You may remember that the M8 comes with a 5-inch 1080p screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. The new device would clearly need to up the ante to keep up with new specs on other handsets, so the One M9 is rumoured to be getting a 5.2-inch 1440 x 2560 Quad HD screen, 564ppi. There will also be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 paired with 3GB of RAM and the device is probably going to land with Android 5.0 Lollipop already running on board. However, while some of these specs are very likely, such as a Quad HD panel, but perhaps the processor will be even beefier. A Snapdragon 805 is the cream of the crop at the moment and is running on the newest flagship heavyweights such as the Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4. By the time the M9 is launched though the 64-bit Snapdragon 810 is likely to be making its presence felt, so perhaps HTC could go with that to take full advantage of Android 5.0.
