Google has today confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be released on November 3rd, tallying up with previous reported dates for the roll out. A note sent out to developers confirmed the news and prompted them to start developing for the Android 5.0 SDK from the stated date. Devs can now publish apps to the Google Play Store ready for the launch of Android 5.0.The confirmation is hardly a surprise as Google said at last week's Nexus launch that the Nexus 9 tablet and the Nexus 6 smartphone would launch on November 3rd. Considering those devices are the first to pack Android 5.0 Lollipop, 2+2 makes 4. The developers note reads:
Android 5.0 SDK available - You can get started developing and testing your apps on Android 5.0 by downloading the Android 5.0 Platform (API Level 21). Also, you can now publish apps that target Android 5.0 Lollipop to Google Play Store. Before Android 5.0 is available to consumers on November 3, we recommend that you test your apps and publish any needed updates to the Play Store.
