Only the most ridiculous of fan boy would not look from iOS to Android and think there are something's Apple's OS could borrow, and of course the same is true in reverse. For example, some more of Google's services would be a welcome addition to Cupertino's ecosystem, such as Google News & Weather which is now getting an iOS launch and is available for iPhone and iPad.

Your machine will have to be running iOS 7 or later, but other than that the app is completely free and brings the slick system that displays news and weather from thousands of sources. Google has been re-optimizing its iOS services lately (such as Gmail) to fit on the new 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 screens. Google News & Weather comes already optimized for both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

This is from the official app blurb:

Your comprehensive and personalized view of headline stories and local news & weather.

Coverage from 65,000 publications

Simple swipe-access to categories such as Top Stories, Technology, Sports & Weather

Tune your layout with any of 60 country-specific editions and personalized news sections such as "Hollywood", "NASA", "Fashion", or anything else that catches your fancy
