We know that Sony will launch a new flagship device during its IFA press event in early September, and we know that the device will be the Xperia Z3. The handset has been popping up sporadically, for the odd image here, or spec leak there. However, the Z3 has now been the subject of a massive leak that lays out pretty much everything about Sony's next gen flagship, including its design.Of course, if you don't want spoilers or to know about the specs of the Xperia Z3 you should probably look away now. TEENA certified the device and in doing so sent out the entire list of specs and a press quality image of the handset, leaving Sony with a big reveal at IFA in front of people who know everything about the Xperia Z3. That aside, as you would expect, the Z3 is typical Sony flagship fare. Nice looking, probably well built, packing enough specs to make it a true contender at the top, and of course waterproof. The Xperia Z3 will miss out on the absolute newest specs (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and Quad HD screen), but what it does have makes it a viable flagship nonetheless. There is a 5.2-inch IPS LCD with 1080p resolution screen on the front, while there is a mammoth 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 with 3GB of RAM under the hood. Also along for the ride is Sony?s very solid 20.7 megapixel snapper than currently adorns the rear of the Xperia Z2, with the front facing lens getting 2.7 megapixels and 1080p video shooting. Storage is taken care of by 16GB of room on board and a microSD card slot should you wish to expand. While waterproofing is not mentioned, you can bet your house that Sony has made the Xperia Z3 impervious when put in the wet stuff, while it will be dustproof too. Design wise, Sony is not reinventing the wheel here and in fact the Z3 looks identical to the outgoing Xperia Z2, but we are sure there will be subtle differences. So, in terms of everything this may not be the sweeping new flagship from Sony, but as the company is one a 6 month launch cycle, the blockbuster device usually lands early in the year. Still the Xperia Z3 seems a solid package overall, and certainly matches other Android flagships like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. source: GSM Arena
