There have been plenty of leaks concerning the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4, some outlandish and others probable. We have a good idea of the specs the handset will boast, although the design as so far eluded us, paving the way for some bold claims. Now we can lay eyes on the Galaxy Note 4 for the first time, with this leaked shot said to be of the as yet unofficial device.

Samsung has scheduled a press event for the IFA trade show in Berlin on September 3rd, and that event is likely to see the Galaxy Note 4 launched. Of course, it is nothing new a Samsung device showing up before launch, but the Note 4 has stayed away from prying eyes for longer than most. This image has now arrived online and shows a handset that is... well it is another Note and there is no getting away from that fact.

Previous rumours have ranged from Samsung using a three panel folding screen (a hopeful wish we always thought) to just overhauling the design. Sure, the Korean company has updated the design by the looks of it, but there is no radical shift in aesthetic here and certainly no folding three sided screen.

That said, the Galaxy Note smartphones have always been among Samsung's best looking, and the Note 4 seems to be an elegant and imposing addition to that canon. It seems more squared off than the Galaxy Note 3 and the bezels look extremely thin, which results in the Note 4 looking enormous. Despite that, it is likely to have the same sized panel as the outgoing Galaxy Note 3, although the display will now be of the Quad HD variety.

Around the side edges there appears to be a metal trim. Samsung is of course getting ready to launch the Galaxy Alpha, the company's fist smartphone to be built with a metal frame. It is unclear if that metal is present on the Galaxy Note 4, but this looks suspiciously like the faux metal we have seen on previous Samsung flagships. Also still in attendance is the fake leather on the rear plate, and while we would prefer it to be the real deal, there is no denying that it looks classy.
