Sony Xperia T2 Android 4.4 update
Sony Xperia T2 Android 4.4 update

Sony is rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to a couple of its devices today and bringing with it a slew of new features and functionality. The devices in question are the mid-range Xperia T2 and T2 Ultra, two smartphones that were released at the start of the year. As well as getting Google's Android 4.4 KitKat changes, the T2's will be decked with numerous enhancements from Sony. The company says other lower end devices such as the Xperia M2 and the Xperia E1 will also get the update in the near future

Of course, KitKat itself brought an entirely different Android experience and has several changes over the Jelly Bean version of the software. The differences between Android KitKat and Jelly Bean have been well documented, but Xperia T2 users can expect a new application draw, an improved clock and stopwatch, support for 4K resolution, improved performance, better security, and a lot more. The software is also much leaner than the Jelly Bean build and should run comfortably on even the modest Xperia T2 range.

The most exciting thing about this update is that Sony has packed a bunch of its own enhancements into the patch too. The Japanese company has really thrown the lot into the update as well and users can expect a slew of new features.

They include improved performance and UI for Sony's entire app range, which includes "Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV, Sony Select, Smart Social Camera and?Sony?s Media apps: WALKMAN, Album and Movies, with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service integration ? a more converged and full Sony entertainment experience ? Sony Entertainment Network & PlayMemories integration with a more intuitive UI, better download speeds, and more!"
