We've heard just about all there is to know about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Alpha (aka the Galaxy F or Galaxy Prime), but here?s something new. According to the Korean Herald the flagship bothering smartphone will come with a 4.7-inch screen, which would make it positively small among Samsung's high end range. The device will be arguably the best smartphone Samsung has ever made and was originally thought to be a premium super phone version of the company?s current Galaxy S5 Flagship. We now know that the Alpha is a standalone handset and according to the Herald today it will sport a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display. That screen size would be a radical departure for Samsung as the company's flagship models are all over 5-inches. Considering the Alpha will be a high end device with what could be the best build quality the Korean company has ever produced, we can only think the 4.7-inch screen would be for one sole reason. The Galaxy Alpha will come with an aluminium unibody, will offer a gold color variation, and will pack a 4.7-inch display. There is another device launching this fall with those exact specs, Apple?s iPhone 6. We have heard that Samsung is ready to throw its considerable marketing weight behind the Galaxy Alpha in a bid to take the fight to Apple and the iPhone 6. The company could really be ready to pitch the Galaxy Alpha directly against the iPhone by making it exactly the same size. It would be a bold move from Samsung as the company knows that Apple's handset is a sales titan, until now Sammy has always avoided direct launches alongside the iPhone, let alone one that seems to be placing itself directly in Cupertino's line of sight. The Alpha is also reportedly using a 64-bit Exynos octa core chip or Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805, while it will be just 6mm thick. It is shaping up to be a fantastic handset, and if press renders are anything to go by it is possibly Samsung's best looking smartphone yet. Of course, if it is to go toe to toe with Apple it will need to be all those things and more. source: Korea Herald
