Things have been quiet regarding Sony flagships of late, which is to be expected as the company released its high end smartphones at the start of the year. However, the end of the year is expected to bring with it the new Xperia Z3 device that will be the company's all-out assault on the flagship world. Today we have what could be our first look at Sony's latest high end smartphone. The handset showed up on a couple of Chinese social media networks today, including Weibo and is reported to be the Xperia Z3. The first thing we can say about this handset is that it seems to be a Sony device, there is that distinct Xperia design language going on that the company has been using over the last 12 to 18 months. Aesthetically it does not seem like Sony has changed too much from the Z2 to the Z3, which would make sense considering the company used the same design while bumping the Z to the Z1 last year. The current Xperia Z2 flagship sports a 5.2-inch screen, but our rough judgement from this photo tells us that the Z3 could be slightly bigger, possibly a 5.3 or 5.5-inch. Other than that there is not too much to go from this image alone. Earlier reports have suggested the Xperia Z3 will come with a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, but I am hearing from Japanese sources that the handset could even come with the newer Snapdragon 805. Sony has a good history of packing the absolute best specs into smartphones, so we really do have high hopes for the Xperia Z3. source: 9to5Google
