The Sony Xperia Z2 camera is praised for producing high-quality video and having software that allows expansion through app add-ons. The latest such enhancement is a new app that makes it possible for Xperia owners to broadcast live video from their phone to YouTube.
The Live on YouTube - by Xperia app can stream up to 15 minutes of video to a YouTube account. It integrates with YouTube to let customers set the broadcast resolution, privacy settings, and even add reminders so friends or followers can watch once the broadcast goes live. Using a simple setup, the phone connects and then starts streaming, providing of course someone can get a reliable internet connection. The finished video is then posted to the connected YouTube account and links can be shared.
There are some big limitations to the feature unfortunately. For starters, this is exclusive to the Xperia Z2. It's also not available in any market that doesn't already support YouTube's live streaming feature, so if you are unable to download the app and run it in places like Germany, that's the reason why. The third stipulation is that the user must have a verified YouTube account that enables Live events and doesn't have pending flags for copyright violations. And when you finally get up and running, the maximum broadcast resolution is 480p. Let's hope the app will update to higher resolution streaming when the network can handle it.Sony
