Samsung's Galaxy S5 debuted in April, so it makes sense that the slightly smaller and not quite as feature-rich version of the device will launch a few months later. Ahead of that official launch, images and specifications for the Galaxy S5 Mini have appeared online.
SamMobile has obtained several photos of the S5 Mini on its own and showing its size in relationship to the standard S5. The device is a miniaturized version that follows the same design but cuts a few specifications. The S5 Mini has a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1 megapixel front camera. The 4.5-inch Super AMOLED screen has a 720p resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass.
Despite the cutting on specs, there are still other major hardware and software features available in the S5 Mini. The device has a fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, and IP 67 water and dust protection. Software features include Android 4.4.2 KitKat with TouchWiz, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Private Mode, and Kids Mode.
Release information for the S5 Mini has yet to be discovered, but you can head to SamMobile to see more photos of the device until an official announcement is made.source: SamMobile
