The HTC Gallery app found in Google Play has been updated to provide more options for users looking to edit their photos or change the way that they are viewed on the device. The update offers a greater sense of control when it comes to the HTC One M8, which can now manually adjust the amount of background blur that is created when using the UFocus feature. UFocus is useful because it emphasizes the front of the image for portraits or the back of the images for changing the focus, but it was sometimes more aggressive than some users had hoped. The change lets someone strike a better balance in emphasizing elements of a photo.
Gallery has also added new options for other devices running Sense 6 software. Dimension Plus, which creates faux-3D image effects when looking at certain photos in the gallery, is now available to devices other than the One M8. HTC had always said that such features were the result of Duo Camera, so it's interesting to see them find another way to include older devices. The same can be said of Pan360, which creates panoramic images similar to the Photosphere feature Google pushed last year. HTC also promises other unnamed improvements in its changelog.
