The roll out of Android 4.4.3 KitKat is now in full swing as the latest version of Google's mobile platform continues to find its way to more and more devices. Another day brings a new batch of smartphones enjoying access to the new version of Android. Hot on the heels of devices like the Moto G and X, as well as Samsung's roadmap to 4.4.3 is a number of other smartphones. It's no surprise to see that devices closely associated with Google are first to get 4.4.3, such as the aforementioned Motorola devices and Google's own Nexus handsets. The next on the list are stock Android versions of flagships, namely the Google Play Editions of the HTC One M7 (i.e. last year's model) and the Samsung Galaxy S4 (i.e. last year's one). These devices are Google exclusives so it makes sense that they will get Android 4.4.3 early in the roll out, even before the current HTC One M8 and Galaxy S5 in fact. Anyone running these two stock Android packing handsets can expect to see the Android update soon, or may even have downloaded it depending on location. You may be thinking that you too own a Google Play Edition handset, but it is the Sony Z Ultra or the LG G2. Unfortunately there are no details about when other Google exclusive phones will be getting the bump to Android 4.4.3, but we imagine it will be fairly soon. As for the standard HTC One M7 and Galaxy S4, the ones running non stock software, they too should be getting the upgrade but the timeframe for that is likely much longer. Samsung has confirmed 4.4.3 for the GS4, but it is likely to focus on newer flagships first, such as the Galaxy Note 3 and of course the GS5. It is a similar story for HTC, with the company likely to get around to legacy devices like the M7, but only after it has covered its current big hitters like the HTC One M8 and its soon to be myriad variations. source: 9to5Google
