HTC has yet to make any noise in the Windowsphere since releasing the HTC 8X in 2012, but the Taiwanese manufacturer may be on track to return with a new Windows Phone, based on comments made by a Microsoft executive. During his speech at Computex early this morning, Microsoft OEM division head Nick Parker said.
"I'd love to break some news here if I could. But instead I'll just say that Microsoft will continue to have a great relationship with HTC. New things are coming, so get excited."
Parker stopped shy of definitively stating that HTC has a new Windows Phone device in the works, but his comments certainly paint a picture of HTC finally diversifying it's Android-dependent portfolio. HTC had said in 2012 that Windows was of strategic importance but those words have been hollow considering the company's lack of investment into the platform.
A short while ago, serial leaker evleaks stated that Verizon would release a device closely mirroring the HTC One M8 in the third quarter of 2014. That means it's possible that HTC might venture back into Windows Phone within the next few months.source: CNET
