Apple's push to make iOS more connected to other devices has made the upcoming iOS 8 a friendlier OS for media sharing. Part of the new capabilities includes making it so AirPlay no longer requires a Wi-Fi connection. Under its current setup, AirPlay links an iPhone or iPad to Apple TV by connecting all devices to the same Wi-Fi network. However in iOS 8, the connection is now direct. Finally getting on the peer-to-peer bandwagon, iOS will soon be able to connect devices and put your family photos or other media content on a bigger screen.via: Engadget
