Samsung has yet to announce any plans to release a Galaxy S5 Active but the existence of the ruggedized version of the device has been confirmed by a hands-on video filmed by someone who obtained the device prematurely. As you can see from the video embedded below, the S5 Active has a tougher exterior compared to the standard S5, and it has the same physical navigation button layout as the S4 Active released last year.
While the standard Galaxy S5 is waterproof, it does not have the same shock absorption and extra padding as the Active. A separate video ran benchmarks that revealed the phone has Android 4.4.2, a 1080p HD display, a 2.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 16-megapixel camera.
