Spotify has long been available on Windows Phone 8 handsets, but the app didn't support the random discover feature known as Spotify Radio. That changed today with the release of multiple ways to listen to music rather than the standard on-demand settings. Spotify Radio now allows users to create their own music stations by picking a favorite artist or song and letting the app play more songs based on similarities and user feedback.
Aside from radio, Spotify added new Browse and Discover sections. Browse is a directory of playlists that speak to a mood or activity. There are genre-based playlists for jogging and several other lists for dinner. The Discover section is similar but is focused on finding new releases and recommendations based on curated lists. Those curators are from noted music sources like Songkick, Pitchfork, Tunigo, and other sources, including Spotify's own data about what works for personalized recommendations.
