Sprint today announced a new add-on for its Framily plans that will offer subscribers the ability to place international phone calls to landlines and mobile devices in dozens of countries, or send unlimited text messages to several dozen more. International Connect is an add-on for the Sprint Framily plan that expands international calling and texting options. The setup is slightly confusing because Sprint lets consumers send unlimited text messages to 180 countries, but they can they can call landlines in 65 countries. Within that number, calls can be placed to landlines or mobile phones in 35 countries while the remaining 30 countries have a per-minute rate for calls made to mobile phones.

Phone calls made to Canada or Mexico are included in the plan as standard calls, but you can gain further clarification on international per-minute rates by visiting sprint.com/internationalrates. Sprint maintains a chart detailing rates for calling each country; however, it has not published a list of countries that support unlimited texting. Consult with Sprint when adding the service because texts to territories not support by International Connect will cost 20 cents per message.
