The HTC Blinkfeed and Zoe camera apps have been core features HTC highlights whenever discussing the value of the One smartphone line, but other Android phones will be able to run those apps later this year. HTC issued a press release about the many features available in the recently announced One M8, and one passage in the release states:
"Following its popularity with HTC users, HTC will now make HTC BlinkFeed available to other Android devices, launching on the Google Play store soon."
The news is uprising given that until a few days ago, Blinkfeed was part of the firmware of HTC's Sense UI and wouldn't work on any other device, including the Google Play Edition of the One. The social media and news aggregation app has since been updated to work as an independent app is in Google Play, though it still works only with the M8. Other Android devices will be able to access the app later this year. According to a follow-up report from The Verge, HTC says it will also make its Zoe camera app available to non-HTC devices.source: The Verge
