The latest Sony Android tablet has a lot in common with the latest Sony Android smartphone, so it makes sense that it's called the Xperia Z2 Tablet. Like the Xperia Z2 smartphone announced today, the Xperia Z2 tablet has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor running at 2.3 GHz. It also has 3GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity, and waterproof protection with iP55/IP58 certification.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet has a 10.1-inch 1080p HD TRILUMINOS display with "Live Colour LED" with X-Reality. Going along with that display, tuned to do a better job at displaying sharp image with "bright natural colors," the Z2 Tablet also has front surround sound audio. The audio is designed to reduce noise when used with a separately sold headset.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet specs include:
- 6.4mm thickness
- 426g or 439g (Wi-Fi or LTE/3G)
- 6,000 mAh battery with Battery STAMINA Mode
- Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 for faster charging
- 8.1-megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor
- 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera
Sony plans to sell the Xperia Z2 beginning in March 2014. Price and release date information has yet to be announced.
