HTC today began releasing the Android 4.4 KitKat update to the HTC One (dual-SIM), One Max, and One Mini smartphones in India, ahead of the expected updates for the phones in the US. The HTC India Facebook page posted that the "HTC One Family" is starting to be updated beginning today, granting users access to new features like better multitasking, new media app options, cloud printing, and an additional 25GB of storage. You can manually seek updates by going to Settings > About > Software updates.
As for the One Max and One Mini owners waiting in the US, updates are also scheduled to arrive soon. HTC North America hosted a reddit AMA last week and revealed that the One Max might be updated in March, which might then be followed by a One Mini update in April. I say "might" because HTC made it a point to say that the updates could arrives "as early as" those dates, meaning delays or work taking longer than expected through carrier testing could cause the updates to arrive later than March or April.source: HTC (Facebook), via: Android Central
