Conventional wisdom has said that Samsung would not announce the Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress later this month, but the Korean manufacturer has sent out press invites to an upcoming event with a blatant teaser for the S5. Late last night, Samsung sent the following image to invite MWC attendees to an event in Barcelona.
One can't help but look at the number 5 in the invite and immediately draw conclusions. I thought for a moment that it might just be the fifth Unpacked event but a quick mental count of the number of Unpacked events that I've attended in the past four years reminded me that it's not. Could Samsung really announce the Galaxy S5 this soon? The company has not announced a Galaxy S flagship at a trade show since the S II debuted at 2011. It looks like Samsung has chosen to not wait for an individual event.
