The Samsung Galaxy S5 was thought to have an iris scanner when an executive confirmed that Samsung was exploring the technology but might not have it ready this year. Though the Galaxy S5 might not have an iris scanner, it will almost surely have a fingerprint scanner based on new images from the consistently accurate evleaks.
Last night, evleaks posted a pair of photos listing files reportedly from the Galaxy S5. One image showed a "FingerprintService.apk" file name, an obvious reference to the device having some form of fingerprint recognition. There are no details about if this is merely for unlocking a phone like the Apple iPhone 5S does or if it can also support shortcuts like the HTC One Max.
Another image shows a file named "3DTourViewer_WQHD_K.apk." The WQHD in the name represents the resolution of the same name, meaning the Galaxy S5 will have a 2K display. A WQHD resolution is 2560×1440, so Samsung apparently plans to cram a lot of pixels into a 5-inch screen.source: evleaks
