The Google+ app for Android has been updated with a seasonal change that seems fitting for the winter and holidays. The latest version of the app brings the snow fall animation previously seen on the Google+ web version, and it makes it very easy to add.
Once someone has updated Google+ to the latest version, rolling out in stages to users beginning today, users can open the app to view photos that have been automatically backed up to the cloud. Shaking the phone or tablet while looking at a photo will use the Auto Awesome feature to add a snow animation layered on top of the image. Shaking the device a second time will save the snow effect and make the photo shareable to others.
Google+ users will probably tire of this effect by New Year's Day, but it's there if you want it. Here's a video demonstration of the snow effect in action.
