Samsung and HTC were the first companies to release versions of their popular smartphones running plain versions of Android through the Google Play Edition program. That has extended today with the announcement of the first GPE tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3.
The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition removes LG's user interface from the G Pad released earlier in the fall. In its place is an Android 4.4. KitKat build on sale now in Google Play. The software removes all of LG's custom enhancements that made the device appealing, but it works for people who enjoyed the hardware and weren't fans of those enhancements.
The G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition is on sale now in the US for $349.99. Here's a quick recap of the hardware features that users can expect.
