The Amazon Prime Air drone delivery method may be a pipe dream, but Verizon's new same-day delivery option is very much a reality. Verizon Wireless has started a new program that will ensure that a phone ordered in the morning will be at the customer's doorstep that evening.
Verizon's "Same Day Service" program guarantees delivery on all orders placed prior to 10 AM. If Mary orders an iPhone 5S for herself and a Samsung Galaxy S4 for her husband at 9:30 AM, the phones will be delivered the same day rather than 3 to 5 days typically seen with online orders. The program is a delivery option initially available only in the surrounding areas of New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Dallas, and San Francisco.
An order may be held up if there are issues related to credit card verification, so customers are advised to be close to email or their phones if a response is needed to get details fixed to ensure delivery. Verizon has also stated that it will not provide this service for prepaid phones or accessories that are not purchased with a phone. The only way to get same day delivery is to purchase a new phone on an agreement.source: Verizon Wireless, via: Phone Arena
